Sandvik Coromant has launched 1,650 new products under the new CoroPak range in India.  These products will cater to the needs of the automotive, aerospace and general engineering sector.

With improved edge line security, GC4235 is a versatile solution for turning both steels and stainless steels. CoroTurn TR® offers a more stable clamping and improved security via a robust T-rail interface between insert and holder. The new CBN grade will boost hard part turning productivity - new grade CB7025 broadens the application of Sandvik Coromant cutting tools, towards a stronger hard part turning offer. New insert grade GC4230 from Sandvik Coromant is a highly versatile and all round performer, optimized for light to heavy milling of alloyed and unalloyed steels. Designed to meet the demands of modern machining, it is equally effective in both wet and dry conditions and at medium to high speeds. A new range of damped silent tools from Sandvik Coromant is bringing substantial performance benefits to complement the existing range of long and slender CoroMill® 390 milling cutters. Round inserts in grades CC6060 and CC6065 increase the available HRSA cutting tool assortment from Sandvik Coromant, while also bringing the advantages of ceramic grades which are able to run at 4-6 times the speed of conventional carbide inserts. CC6065 is the ideal solution for high temperature alloy machining on good quality forgings with some ovality. Improved machining results through increases in feed rate can be achieved with a stronger insert and edge line to elevate component quality.

Speaking on the occasion, Robindra Nath Som, general manager, Sandvik Coromant, India said: "This CoroPak marks the addition to 'The New Insert Generation' family of products for machining, which is more secure, versatile, predictable and durable. The New Insert Generation consists of tough grades for turning and milling, which are introduced as an addition in each CoroPak. We have introduced truly innovative and revolutionary products in almost every avenue of the metal cutting industry." Sandvik Coromant is the flagship of Sandvik tooling division, specializing in cemented carbide and high speed tools for metal working.

This launch is considered a significant achievement since Sandvik Coromant usually introduces 1000 new products with every CoroPak. Sandvik Coromant schedules two CoroPak product launches every year and invests nearly 6% of its turnover annually towards R&D. The annual global market for Sandvik Coromant products is in the range of US $ 14 bn. Sandvik Coromant now has products in almost every avenue of the metal cutting industry with the new CoroPak range. Hakan Kingstedt, managing director and president, Sandvik Asia Limited, said: "I am delighted to share the launch of the new CoroPak range in India. This launch coincides with a buoyant automotive and engineering sector riding on an economic boom in India. These products will further augment our market growth here."
