Allison Transmission planning to set up manufacturing facility in India Print E-mail

New Delhi: Allison Transmission – a US based auto component manufacturer - producing commercial duty automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems is planning to set up a manufacturing unit in India as a part of its expansion plans.   

Allison is also planning to set up a customization Centre in India to integrate, customize and deliver their products to customers in India according to Michael G Headly, International Marketing Sales and Service.

Current customers of Allison Transmissions in India include Tata, Ashok Leyland, JCB and Sutlej for on-highway and off-highway automatic transmission systems. Allison is also providing hybrid propulsion systems for city buses. Discussions are on with other Indian OEMs to increase their market presence according to company sources.
