Bangalore: Machine tool major Yamazaki Mazak is planning to set up a Machine Tool production facility in India to address the fast growing Indian Metal working Industry.

Mazak is planning to produce Nexus Mark II models of products which include CNC lathes, Vertical Machining Centres and Horizontal Machining Centres from the new production facility. The production from the new plant is expected to start some time in 2009.

As of now the Indian market requirements are mainly supplied from Singapore. Almost 60% of the Mazak sales in India is from Horizontal Machining centers.  The new production facility which is likely to come up in Pune would reduce the delivery time, improve the support and make the machines more attractive and affordable to Indian clients.

It was Yamazaki Mazak that established the first technology centre by any Japanese Machine Tool builder in India in Pune near Mumbai in 1998.

Mazak Corporation, based out of Japan, already has manufacturing facilities in other parts of the world like UK, Singapore, and China. Mazak  has more than 60 technology Centers across the world to offer better service to their local clients.
