Specifically for finishing non-ferrous materials with an aluminium, copper or brass base,

WALTER now is introducing precision-ground indexable inserts with PF2 positive geometry. These new inserts complement the proven PM2 geometry offering, which is mainly used for intermediate and roughing applications. With this addition, users can now choose from a full line of indexable inserts for turning non-ferrous materials. PF2 insertThe PF2 inserts can be supplied in all standard ISO shapes and with corner radii from 0.1 to 0.8 mm. WALTER uses special high-strength, wear-resistant carbides for the substrate cutting tool material. The offering includes an uncoated and a coated variant, designated WK1 and WXN10. The coated version (WXN10) is furnished with a hard coating applied by PVD for maximum tool life. All inserts are peripheral ground and guarantee the most accurate insert changing required in finishing work. The PF2 chip formers extend as far as the radius area to ensure optimum chip control. The cutting surface is also polished.

Together with the razor-sharp cutting edge, the user will also receive outstanding surface quality with very low cutting forces.

The PF2 geometry is ideal for use in all applications where process reliability is paramount, for example in unmanned volume production. A secondary application is finishing of stainless steels and materials with difficult cutting properties. Like nonferrous materials, these materials need stable, positive cutting edges.

Extraordinary sharp, these new, positive precision inserts from WALTER with PF2 geometry for turning nonferrous materials and also for finishing stainless steels and materials with difficult cutting properties.
