New Delhi: To sensitise MSME industry about a systematic approach to explore Best Practices on shopfloor like Production, Quality, Maintenance and Cost reduction, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) , mounted a study Manufacturing Innovation Mission in the National Capital Region (NCR) for 20th- 22nd February 2008.
As part of the three day schedule, the twenty four (24) Mission members from eleven (11) CII member companies, did interact with & visited six (6) companies in the National Capital Region (Noida & Gurgaon). The six Innovative Companies Covered were LGEIL ,Samtel Colour Limitedubros, Ashai Glass ,Sona Group ,Sandhar Technologies Ltd And Sukam. Selection for these companies were on the basis of the excellent work done by them in field of developing and practicing techniques through TQM, TPM and Lean methodologies to evolve world class manufacturing facilities. These practices have helped them in enhancing their competitive position in the global market. In her message to the members of the CII delegation, Dr Sarita Nagpal, Deputy Director General CII, said “In the quest of creating a pervasive culture of innovation, the objective of the delegation is to study Companies with respect to: Ownership / Structure for innovation ,Culture and role of executive leadership ,Tools/Methodologies applied , Risk taking ability and Best practices “ In the journey of CII Mission for Innovation in Manufacturing, CII has already launched the Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (VLFM) programme as part of the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Program (NMCP). Another approach is to take the initiative through the different International platform like SME Awards and MSME Global Summit . |
