3M India to expand manufacturing facilities at Ahmedabad Print E-mail

With Rs 250 million for expansions 3M India will upgrade and acquire new machinery at its Ahmedabad plant

Mumbai: 3M India Ltd has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on February 27, 2008, has approved investment of not exceeding Rs 250 million in buildings, furniture & fittings, equipment and plant & machinery with regard to expansion of existing manufacturing facilities at Ahmedabad for Corrosion Protection Products under Automotive and Specialty Materials Markets segment.

3M India, a subsidiary of Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (USA), is a diversified technology company. The company provides products and services for the industrial, automotive, healthcare, and consumer and office markets in India.

The Manufacturing Facility for Corrosion Protection Products in Ahmedabad was inaugurated in August 2004.

3M India has manufacturing facilities at Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pondicherry & Pune with more than 700 employees. In 2006, 3M India had a turnover of Rs.5103 million with profits of over Rs.504.2 million.
