Gorica Auto India Ltd to begin production in June at Kalyani plant

Gorica Auto India Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Dubai-based Gorica Group of Companies, has already started trial production in its plant at Kalyani in West Bengal.

The 100-million-euro group that manufactures trailers, tippers and loaders, has three factories in Dubai with a total capacity of 300 products per month.

According to Ivan Fornazaric, chairman of the Gorica Group, their target is to increase the global turnover from 100 million euros to 250 million euros by 2010.

The  Group set up base in India three years ago and production at the Kalyani factory is officially slated to begin during the first week of June. The Indian operations are expected to generate a turnover of 50 million euros by 2009.

The current capacity of the Kalyani plant is 25 to 30 units a month in a single shift and this will be doubled when the shifts are increased.

The group’s expansion plans also include setting up assembly plants in Bangalore and Pune.
