"Brand Leadership" and the "Product Leadership" Awards in the Indian DCS Industry 2007

MUMBAI; Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) has received the prestigious "Brand Leadership" and "Product Leadership" awards in the Indian Distributed Control Systems (DCS) industry from Frost & Sullivan. The awards are based on detailed research seeking to recognize best practices and outstanding performance by companies in the automation and drives industry in India.

Frost & Sullivan's "Brand Leadership Award" is presented to the company that has been able to create a high degree of preference among the customers. A company's ability to consistently offer products and services of immense value, supported by effective brand communication to instill customer confidence, are key parameters contributing to eligibility for this award.

The "Product Leadership Award" is recognition of a company's effort in optimizing its product line and populating it with the most desirable features. A company's ability to consistently bring new innovation in its product line coupled with flexibility in tailoring product offerings to suit customer businesses are some of the key requirements to win this award.

Frost & Sullivan's Excellence Awards in Automation & Drives is based on voice of the customers. The basis for identification of best practices and practitioners is an extensive automation and drives end user research conducted across the user segments of automation and drives products.

A massive exercise on a national scale was undertaken wherein 235 key industry participants were engaged in a face to face discussion. The respondents were asked to provide usage details, assign weightage to key selection criteria and the performance of the current brand(s) against a set of relevant criteria. Followed up by extensive analysis, the domain experts from Frost & Sullivan's Automation practice leverage their industry tracking experience, interaction with consumers, understanding of product features and technology and marketing strategies to rate the product suppliers in the order of their merit.
