Mr K V Kamath leading the discussion from CII said that Orissa accounted for one fifth of the total investments in India and there is a need to project Orissa to the World on the recent progress it has achieved. The other senior members who called on the CM include Mr Sandipan Chakravortty, Chairman, CII Eastern Region & Managing Director, Tata Ryerson Ltd., Mr Santosh Mohapatra, Chairman, CII Orissa State Counil and CEO, Dhamra Port and Mr  Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII.
 
Addressing the Interactive session with CII National Council members, the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Patnaik said that the development of education system was the top priority for the State. The Chief Minister further said that the government is planning to open at least one ITI in every block of the state so that the rural populace reap the benefits of industrial development of the state.
 
Outlining the business development potential in Orissa, the Chief Minister said that a new beach resort in Puri in a 1000 acre area and port projects in Gopalpur and Dhamra was in progress. A few more port projects are in the pipeline and Orissa would have its first ship building company in Dammra soon, he added.
 
Addressing the gathering Mr K V Kamath, President, CII said that the industry is ready to reciprocate the state government's initiative with public-private-partnership model. He said that industry would collaborate with the recently setup commission on Vocational Education to develop vocational training in the state.
