This is the first JIMTOF since establishing the business collaboration between Mori Seiki and Gildemeister (DMG) from Germany. To celebrate the new cooperation, both companies are hosting a joint booth featuring 15 new models among the 34 machines to be displayed.
DMG and Mori Seiki are in the process of setting up a technical center in India at Peenya in Bangalore. The technical center will be inaugurated in March 2011.
Mori Seiki's “X-class” machines were exhibited for the first time in Japan at JIMTOF 2010. The X class builds on the proven performance of the N Series, offering enhanced product quality, measures against thermal displacement, and energy efficiency. The X-class is available in wide variety of models.
DMG's DMU 50 eco, featuring 5-axis indexing machining with excellent cost performance, was also displayed. This is an ideal model for customers who consider introducing an entry-level 5-axis machine. The HSC 55 linear of high-speed cutting precision centers offers 3 to 5 axis machining using a linear motor drive. The prize-winning entries for the Cutting Dream Contest 2010, which was hosted by Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. have been decided.
The Cutting Dream Contest is open to companies, schools and research institutions engaged in machining with machine tools in Japan. It is intended to promote the exchange of information on technologies and techniques and to improve them throughout the machining industry. This year, which marks the seventh contest, the company received a total of 105 entries from all over Japan.
After careful judging by 5 members of the panel from outside the company, 4 entries from production parts machining, 6 entries from prototype & test cut machining, 6 entries from die & mold/free form machining, 5 entries from micro machining, and 5 entries from academic research were selected. The awards ceremony were held at JIMTOF 2010 (25th Japan International Machine Tool Fair) on October 28, and awards and prize money were be given to each winner. All entries were be on display at the Mori Seiki booth during JIMTOF 2010.
Mori Seiki's NLX2500 Series ensures high rigidity. The improved design use different platforms for turning, milling, and Y axis specifications. In addition, it can offer longer tool life and capabilities for heavy-duty cutting.
The NVX5000 Series offers vibration damping performance and dynamic rigidity made possible by slideways used in all axis. The NVX5000 machine also uses the heat-symmetrical structure for the spindle to minimize thermal displacement. The NHX series offers improved cost performance. The NHX Series makes high speed, high accuracy machining possible with a rapid traverse rate of 60 m/min.
The NTX Series of integrated mill turn centers is an ideal choice for machining small precision parts. The NTX machine delivers the high-precision complete machining.
DMG's DMU 80 P duoBLOCK ® offers various machining with 3 different milling heads and 2 different types of table composition, and handles up to 5-axis machining. The machine won the "40th Machine Design Award (40th Anniversary Award)” sponsored by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun for its high quality design.
The ULTRASONIC 20 linear is a next generation machine, offering both ultrasonic and high speed machining. This machine handles milling and machining of both hard and soft materials.
The LASERTEC 40 Shape is another next generation machine boasting laser precision. 6-axis control makes detailed 3D machining possible. |
