Hyderabad: Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair, who inaugurated the 8th Asia Pacific Conference on Combustion (ASPACC) in Hyderabad, said that hydrogen fuel will be the new age fuel that will power the aerospace, automobile and energy sectors. The ASPACC, organised by Combustion Institute-Indian Section (CIIS) is a three-day conference for mutual exchange of information among the global scientific community who are involved in fundamental & applications oriented combustion research. Of the 400 delegates participating in the conference, 160 are from Asia-Pacific countries like China, Korea, Taiwan, Australia and Japan. Recognising the need to develop low-cost technologies for use of high-efficiency new-age fuels to meet the energy needs of the world, he said that a lot of research would have to be undertaken to develop and master the use of hydrogen fuel before it could be put into mass use. |
