ABG Shipyard Ltd bags Rs. 970 Crore order from Indian Navy

Mumbai: ABG Shipyard Ltd has signed a contract with the Indian Navy (Ministry of Defence) for construction of two cadet training ships. The order worth Rs. 970 Crores marks the company's defence foray.

The two Cadet Training Ships are for providing basic training to the Naval cadets and trainees, to carryout disaster relief, search and rescue operations with the capability to carry light helicopter.

The vessel will be approx. 110 mts in length and will be designed to achieve a maximum speed of 20 knots.

With state of the art infrastructure in place at its Surat & Dahej yards and having delivered more than 140 vessels worldwide, ABG Shipyard Ltd is now fully geared to build all kinds of ships for Indian Defence Sector.

With this order the total order book of the company stands approx. at Rs. 14,890 crores.
