Bharat Forge bags Golden Peacock Award for Best HR Practices in Engg sector

Pune: Bharat Forge, the flagship company of the USD 2.5 billion Kalyani Group and a global leader in manufacturing & metal forming, received the Golden Peacock Award for ‘Best HR Practices 2011’ in the Engineering sector.

Unique training initiatives at Bharat Forge include a Post Graduation in Manufacturing Management in collaboration with University of Warwick, U.K., an M.Tech. programme suiting its requirements with IIT Mumbai with a view to promote Research & Development; Focused training to fresh ITIs through Apprentice Shop and on-going Talent Pipeline Program for fresh engineers from colleges at Rural areas.

Bharat Forge has signed an MoU with BITS Pilani in March 2004.

Dr Santosh Bhave, Vice President HR and Ms. Leena Deshpande AVP HR at Bharat Forge received the award from former Chief Justice of India, Justice M.N. Venkatchaliah at a ceremony organized by the Institute of Directors at the Le Meridian, New Delhi recently.

In tune with this philosophy, we have developed some truly unique training and development initiatives to facilitate and nurture the growth of our personnel. An eminent panel of judges headed by Dr. Ola Ullsten, Global Chairman & Former Prime Minister of Sweden, Justice P N Bhagwati, Former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of India, Pradeep Chaturvedi, Advisor-FAO and Dr. A N Saksena, Former Financial Advisor, Ministry of Petroleum considered each company’s performance based on a comprehensive set of criteria. The panel evaluated detailed information on the HR practices and systems of participating companies. This year’s format saw major Indian Corporates from 13 different sectors across the country compete for the coveted awards in the final round.

Bharat Forge Limited has also bagged the "National Award for Best HR Practices -2009" during the Annual National Conference of NIPM (National Institute of Personnel Management) at Kolkata on 18th Feb'2010.
