Pune: Maria Stenström (53) will head Volkswagen Passenger Cars sales in India and the Far East effective December 1, 2011. In this function she will report direct to the Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Christian Klingler. Maria Stenström succeeds Armin Keller (50), who has been appointed the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand Executive Director for sales to ASEAN markets. Keller will report direct to Weiming Soh, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Group China responsible for Sales and Marketing and Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand sales in China and the ASEAN region. Maria Stenström held responsibility inter alia for dealer development, volume planning and the Russian market at Volvo in Sweden before moving to France as project manager at Renault in 1992. She was in charge of UK market development at Volvo from 1994 to 1996, subsequently assuming responsibility for the South European market, and heading the European service business from 1998. Stenström took charge of Volvo’s product offering in Southern Europe from 2000 to 2003, and was then appointed Managing Director for Volvo sales in France until 2007. Maria Stenström became Vice President Global Marketing in Sweden in 2007. In April 2011 she moved to the Volkswagen Group as Head of International Marketing Planning. |
