Tata Automotive to start aircraft component production |

Nagpur: Tata Automotive Solutions Ltd. will start its aircraft components production from Mihan at the Special Economic Zone set up by Maharashtra Airport Development Company in Nagpur. Planning to start production by July 2008, the Tatas would be one of the first companies to start production from Mihan SEZ project and probably the first private company to start major aviation production industry which was monopolized by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Tata Automotive Solutions is investing about Rs.700 crores in this 30 acre facility located in Nagpur. Tatas are aiming at supplying components to Boeing , the aviation giant which is setting up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) depot at Mihan SEZ. According to Mr.R.C.Sinha, vice-chairman and managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company, that is setting up Mihan SEZ, the infrastructure work is progressing well. According to the agreement all the companies which bought land in Mihan SEZ has to start utilizing the same before September 2010. |
