Andhra Pradesh has announced its Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, which aims to attract ₹10 lakh crore in investments across solar, wind, and renewable energy storage sectors. The policy is part of the state’s strategy to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2047, with a significant emphasis on creating employment and expanding clean energy infrastructure.

The policy outlines specific targets, including 78.5 GW of solar capacity, 35 GW of wind energy, and 22 GW of pumped storage. It also promotes the development of green hydrogen, battery storage, and cleantech manufacturing sectors. Additionally, the state plans to establish 5,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and add 25-30 GW in clean energy manufacturing capacity. To support workforce development, Andhra Pradesh will establish a Green Energy University, focusing on skills needed in the clean energy sector.

Incentives provided under the policy include concessional land leases, stamp duty waivers, and capital subsidies for clean energy projects. To streamline project development, the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) will act as the nodal agency, coordinating land acquisition, power grid access, and necessary approvals.

The ICE Policy also includes a job creation target, estimating that 7,50,000 employment opportunities will be generated through these initiatives.
