Danfoss India has announced an additional ₹500 crore investment to enhance its local manufacturing capabilities for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) compressors and controls. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to reduce import dependence, strengthen the local supply chain, and meet the rising demand in the Indian refrigeration and air conditioning market.

The investment will focus on increasing production capacity, fostering a local supplier ecosystem, and developing talent for sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions. The company is targeting revenue of ₹5,000 crore in India by 2026, supported by geographic expansion and workforce development.

According to Kristian Strand, President of Danfoss Commercial Compressors, the move aligns with Danfoss’ global strategy and reflects the significance of the Indian market. The company currently meets 60-70% of customer demand locally and aims to further increase localisation across its product range.

In addition to manufacturing, Danfoss India plans to develop green professionals through collaborations with academic institutions and technical training programs. These initiatives aim to address market trends and support decarbonisation goals.

Danfoss India, a subsidiary of the global Danfoss Group, provides energy-efficient technologies for industries including HVACR, climate solutions, and industrial automation. The company’s efforts align with India’s energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.
