Afcons Infrastructure has received a Letter of Intent from the Ministry of Defence, through the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), for a ₹1,084.54 crore project in Visakhapatnam. The initiative aims to enhance maritime facilities, including the Material Test Centre (MTC), Ship Assembly Facility (SAF), and the Automated Ship Lift Workshop Facility (AMCSWF).
The project, based on a design and build (D&B) model, encompasses civil, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC works, as well as extra-low voltage (ELV) systems, furniture, and interior installations. The planned upgrades aim to modernize and improve operational capabilities at the ship lift facility.
Scheduled for completion within 36 months, the project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure supporting defence operations.
