Zen Technologies Limited, a producer of defence training systems and anti-drone solutions, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in TISA Aerospace Private Limited, a company engaged in the development of loitering munitions and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Zen Technologies, which manufactures defence training systems and anti-drone solutions, will carry out the acquisition through a combination of share purchases from existing TISA shareholders and the acquisition of compulsorily convertible debentures (CCDs) issued by TISA.
The investment is aimed at expanding Zen Technologies’ presence in the loitering munitions sector, which has seen increasing operational deployment in modern warfare.
“This acquisition is a decisive step towards strengthening Zen’s position in the rapidly evolving defence drone sector. TISA’s expertise in loitering munitions provides us with immediate access to advanced technologies and platforms that align with the emerging operational requirements of the Armed Forces,” said Ashok Atluri, Chairman and Managing Director of Zen Technologies.
“TISA has achieved significant R&D milestones, including the successful execution of a project for DRDO with critical design assistance from IIT Madras. By integrating these capabilities with our existing strengths in anti-drone systems and propulsion technologies, we are building a broader and more future-ready defence portfolio,” Atluri added.
Founded in December 2020, TISA Aerospace designs and manufactures loitering munitions and UAVs for defence applications. The company has delivered loitering munitions that meet DRDO specifications and is developing new variants for the Indian Army.
Zen Technologies Limited develops and produces defence training systems and anti-drone solutions. The company operates an R&D and production facility in Hyderabad, has applied for over 172 patents, and has supplied more than 1,000 training systems worldwide.
