Time Technoplast Limited said it has received regulatory approval to manufacture and supply Type-3 fully wrapped fibre reinforced composite cylinders for compressed gas applications, expanding its certified product portfolio in high-pressure gas storage.

The company stated that the approval was granted on 01 January 2026 by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO), the Government of India’s nodal agency, along with TÜV Rheinland (India) Private Limited. The approval covers high-pressure Type-3 composite cylinders with a capacity of two litres.

The newly approved cylinders are authorised for use across multiple applications, including hydrogen and oxygen transportation and cascade systems, hydrogen storage for drone and related systems, medical uses such as self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and medical oxygen, and laboratory and metalworking gases including nitrogen, helium, argon and carbon dioxide.

The filing said the approval provides blanket authorisation for the specified cylinder design, enabling deployment across these end-use segments without the need for separate application-specific clearances. The company added that it already holds approvals for Type-3 composite oxygen and breathing air cylinders with a capacity of 6.8 litres, as well as composite hydrogen cylinders in Type-3 (6.8 litres) and Type-4 (150 litres) configurations.

Time Technoplast noted that the approval strengthens its position in composite cylinder manufacturing for high-pressure gases, particularly in oxygen and hydrogen applications. The filing described the newly approved cylinders as part of the company’s value-added product offerings.

The company also highlighted potential end-market demand referenced in the disclosure. The global medical oxygen cylinder market was valued at approximately USD 2.55 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach about USD 4.97 billion by 2032, according to market research cited in the filing. In addition, the global drone market is projected to reach around USD 40 billion by 2030, which the company said could create opportunities for hydrogen-powered drone applications using composite cylinders.

The filing further stated that this development builds on an earlier announcement dated 22 December 2025 regarding the successful completion of the company’s first trial of hydrogen-powered drones. The company said it is continuing to adapt its composite cylinder technology across different drone sizes.
