Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, today commissioned India’s first 5 MW off‑grid green hydrogen pilot plant in the Kutch district of Gujarat. The facility is powered entirely by solar energy and features a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling fully off‑grid operation.

The plant boasts a fully automated, closed‑loop electrolyser system that dynamically adjusts to real‑time renewable energy inputs, offering flexibility to manage solar power variability. According to the company, this demonstration validates the technical feasibility of green hydrogen for industrial decarbonisation.

The company also stated that this pilot also serves as a proof of concept ahead of ANIL’s upcoming Green Hydrogen Hub in Mundra. The initiative supports India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, aimed at reducing imports and cutting emissions in energy‑intensive industries.

ANIL is developing large‑scale green hydrogen and derivative‑product facilities—including green ammonia, methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel—alongside local manufacturing of solar modules, wind turbines, and electrolysers at Mundra.
