TVS Indeon, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lucas TVS, an automotive manufacturer, has entered into a partnership with Norway-based Pixii AS to expand the deployment of distributed battery energy storage systems (BESS) in India. The collaboration targets the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, aiming to support the development of energy storage infrastructure across the country.
Under the partnership, Pixii will contribute its modular BESS technology, power conversion systems, and integration capabilities. TVS Indeon will leverage its manufacturing experience in automotive components and battery systems, along with its established market presence in India. The collaboration aims to serve India’s energy transition goals as part of Norway and India’s clean energy cooperation.
In February 2025, TVS Indeon expanded its battery pack production facility located at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Gummidipoondi, Tamil Nadu. The facility, which began operations in 2024, reported a production capacity of 1 GWh at the time of the expansion, and is capable of manufacturing 1,500 battery packs per day, which the company aims to achieve by March 2026.
In October 2024, Pixii opened an office in New Delhi to support its commercial activities in India. The company’s entry into the Indian market was supported by a trade agreement that was signed between Norway and India earlier in the year.
Pixii AS is a Norwegian company specializing in energy storage and power electronics solutions. TVS Indeon is part of Lucas TVS, an Indian industrial group engaged in automotive electrical components and battery manufacturing.
