Cummins India Limited, a manufacturer of power generation systems, has launched its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as part of its expanding sustainable energy solutions portfolio. The systems are designed to support the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind into existing power infrastructure, while also enhancing grid stability.
The new BESS products are available in 10-foot and 20-foot containerized formats, delivering energy outputs ranging from 200 kilowatt-hours (kWh) to 2 megawatt-hours (MWh). They use lithium ferrophosphate (LFP) batteries and feature integrated liquid cooling for thermal management. The systems also include plug-and-play functionality and come with multi-level fire safety mechanisms and international safety certifications.
The solutions are aimed at industries including manufacturing, data centers, commercial real estate, and mining.
“India’s energy mix is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by ambitious climate commitments and rapid adoption of renewables. Our Battery Energy Storage System is intended to support this transition by offering scalable and efficient energy infrastructure,” said Shveta Arya, Managing Director, Cummins India Limited.
“As the demand for reliable power grows, customers are exploring more efficient ways to manage energy costs and improve power quality,” added Pankaj Kapoor, Vice President, Distribution Business, Cummins India Limited.
Cummins India noted that the new BESS offerings will be supported by its nationwide service and distribution network to ensure long-term performance and reliability.
