Force Motors, an Indian automotive and auto component manufacturer, has produced its 100,000th engine for BMW Group India at its assembly facility in Chennai. The plant, which began operations in 2015, assembles engines exclusively for BMW and plays a role in the company’s localisation efforts in India.
The milestone engine will power a BMW X5. The Chennai facility features automated assembly lines, digital integration, and quality systems aligned with BMW’s global production standards.
The event marking the production milestone was attended by Marcus Wollens, Vice President, BMW Production Network 2, BMW AG; Thomas Dose, Managing Director, BMW Group Plant Chennai; and Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors.
“This 100,000th engine milestone is a powerful symbol of our Indo-German synergy and shared vision. It reflects a decade of engineering excellence, innovation, and a mutual commitment to quality,” said Wollens.
“BMW Group Plant Chennai takes pride in maintaining global quality benchmarks. Our collaboration with Force Motors is integral to delivering locally produced BMW cars that meet international standards while promoting local value creation,” said Dose.
“This milestone is a testament to the trust, precision, and high standards that define our partnership. As BMW Group India expands its footprint, Force Motors remains committed to supporting that journey through operational excellence and world-class manufacturing,” said Firodia.
