Lumax Group, a manufacturer of auto components, has inaugurated IAC India’s Chakan 3 Plant and the extension of Chakan Plant 1 in Maharashtra. The combined investment for the two facilities is approximately INR 700 million. The new capacity is aimed at supporting the company’s growing automotive interiors business, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) segment.

The Chakan 3 Plant has been specifically developed to meet the evolving requirements of EVs and will focus on manufacturing advanced interior systems and components. The Plant 1 Extension is intended to enhance IAC India’s overall production capabilities to efficiently serve increasing customer demand.

The inauguration was attended by industry leaders, including Harish Chavan, Chief Purchase Officer – Auto & Farm Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra; Nitin Bhangale, Head of Automotive Manufacturing Infrastructure Projects, Plant Utilities, Manufacturing Excellence, ESG & TPM, Mahindra & Mahindra; and Sandeep Naik, Supply Chain Head, Auto Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra.

The event also saw the participation of Deepak Jain, Chairman of Lumax Group, and Anmol Jain, Group Managing Director, along with representatives from IAC Group, including Sebastian de Coster, Chief Commercial Officer; Sunil Koparkar, Managing Director, IAC India; and Sitangshu Nandy, Senior Director NPD, IAC India.

Lumax Group, through its subsidiaries including Lumax Auto Technologies and IAC India, is engaged in the manufacture and supply of automotive components such as lighting, chassis, and interior systems to automotive manufacturers across India.
