Belden Inc. has inaugurated its second manufacturing plant in Pune with an investment of USD 40 million. The new five-storey facility adds 19,000 sqm of manufacturing space, nearly doubling the existing 10,000 sqm at Plant 1, which has been operational since 2018.

The inauguration was led by Ashish Chand, President and CEO of Belden, together with the company’s senior leadership team. “This expansion is a testament to Belden’s vision of transforming from a product-focused manufacturer to a trusted solutions provider for mission-critical networking and data applications worldwide,” said Chand.

The plant integrates smart manufacturing systems with advanced automation, testing facilities and digital systems to support scalable production. The facility has been designed to achieve India Green Building Certification and incorporates solar energy systems to support operations.

During construction, the company recorded over one million safe working hours. Belden added that the plant would strengthen supply chain resilience, reduce lead times, and contribute to local employment and supplier development.

Founded more than 120 years ago, Belden Inc. is headquartered in St. Louis and delivers connection solutions across North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BDC.
