Royal Enfield has opened its fourth manufacturing facility in India at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu. The plant spans over 50 acres and was part of the company’s 2023 investment plan of INR 10 billion to INR 15 billion to expand its product portfolio and manufacturing capacity.
The Cheyyar facility is intended to support growing demand for Royal Enfield motorcycles in domestic and international markets. It is also expected to contribute to the production of future electric vehicles (EVs) and new internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles.
While the specific manufacturing capacity of the new plant was not disclosed, Royal Enfield’s existing facilities in Oragadam and Vallam Vadagal currently have a combined capacity of over one million units per year. The Cheyyar plant will add to this capacity to meet future requirements.
Work on the Cheyyar plant commenced in April 2023, and the facility officially opened in June 2025. The plant is equipped with advanced manufacturing technology to support Royal Enfield’s operational standards.
Royal Enfield is a motorcycle manufacturer based in India, known for its range of mid-sized motorcycles. The company has an established manufacturing presence with plants in Chennai and now Cheyyar.
