iMerit, a company specializing in AI data solutions, has launched an Automotive AI Center of Excellence in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The new facility marks iMerit’s 12th location and aims to strengthen its presence in the AI and automotive sectors. The company has already hired more than 220 employees at the center and plans to double the workforce within the next fiscal year.

The center was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu’s Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services, Palanivel Thiagarajan, alongside iMerit executives and employees. The facility focuses on providing AI data solutions for autonomous mobility, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), trucking, and drones.

Radha Ramaswami Basu, CEO and founder of iMerit, stated that the automotive AI sector accounts for 60% of the company’s revenue, with clients in advanced industries such as autonomous mobility and multisensor fusion. The company’s software platform, Ango Hub, supports these efforts with specialized capabilities, including 3D sensor integration.

According to Anupam Biswas, Chief Delivery Officer at iMerit, the Coimbatore location has experienced rapid growth due to the availability of skilled talent in the region. The company has already trained over 220 employees on its Ango Hub software, who are now working on customer projects.

The global AI data management market is estimated to reach $25.53 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.7% between 2024 and 2030. Similarly, the automotive AI market is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 21.5% by 2028, reaching $7.5 billion globally.

The Coimbatore center is part of iMerit’s broader strategy to support the development of AI technologies in autonomous mobility, healthcare, and other industries. The company plans to expand its operations further in 2025.
