Craftsman Automation has initiated commercial production at its new manufacturing facility in Kothavadi, Coimbatore, as of April 19, 2025. The plant is situated on a 48-acre site and is intended to support the company’s automotive powertrain, aluminium products, and industrial and engineering segments.

The company had allocated approximately INR 2.09 billion for the development of the Kothavadi facility, with INR 1.5–1.6 billion designated for expenditure, in 2023. This investment was part of an increased capital expenditure plan for FY24, raising the total to INR 4.7–4.8 billion (USD 56–57 million). The Kothavadi plant is located within 45 km of the company’s existing facility to improve operational efficiency.

In the first half of FY24, Craftsman Automation invested INR 2.58 billion in expanding existing operations, including technology upgrades and automation.

Craftsman Automation’s revenue distribution for FY24 was 35% from the powertrain business, 48% from aluminium die castings, and 17% from industrials and storage solutions. The company is working with a large customer for an export order expected to begin in FY26 and is revamping its capacities to cater to demand in the off-highway segment.
