Kaynes Circuits India, a subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Ltd, plans to set up a new electronics manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of INR 49.95 billion (approximately USD 572 million). The facility is expected to produce 74-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs), high-density interconnect (HDI) PCBs, flexible PCBs, high-performance laminates, camera module assemblies, and wire harness assemblies.

The announcement follows recent expansion moves by the company. In 2024, Kaynes Technology established Kaynes Space Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary focused on satellite design, development, and manufacturing. Another subsidiary, Kaynes Semicon, received approval in September 2024 to set up a semiconductor facility in Gujarat with an investment of INR 33 billion.

In June 2025, Kaynes Semicon, along with L&T Semiconductor Technologies, agreed to acquire the power modules business of Fujitsu General Electronics for INR 1,183.2 million (USD 13.8 million). Kaynes Technology has also acquired land in Sanand, Gujarat, to set up an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility.

Several electronics manufacturers have recently announced investment plans in Tamil Nadu. In April 2025, Dixon Technologies signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government to establish a manufacturing facility near Chennai with a proposed investment of INR 10 billion. The state government has also launched the Tamil Nadu Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, which aims to attract INR 300 billion in investments and generate 60,000 jobs.

Kaynes Technology India Ltd provides electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) services across sectors such as automotive, aerospace and defence, industrial, railways, and medical. The company operates multiple production facilities and continues to expand its presence in high-tech electronics manufacturing.
