Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has secured a contract worth INR 15.99 billion for the supply of metro coaches for Mumbai Metro Line 6. The company received a Letter of Acceptance from NCC Limited for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and commissioning of 108 metro coaches—comprising 18 trains of six coaches each—serving the Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway) corridor.
The scope of work includes a 104-week design-build period, followed by a two-year defect liability period and a five-year comprehensive maintenance term. Titagarh will act as the specialised subcontractor for rolling stock under a tender issued by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
In its stock exchange filing, the company clarified that there are no related party transactions involved, and the promoter group has no interest in the entity awarding the contract.
Titagarh Rail Systems manufactures passenger coaches, freight wagons, metro trains, and related components for both domestic and international markets. The company stated that the contract has been disclosed to the stock exchanges in line with regulatory requirements.
