Kaynes Technology India Limited said its wholly owned subsidiary Kaynes Semicon Private Limited has entered into strategic partnerships with Japan-based Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and AOI Electronics Co., Ltd. to support its upcoming semiconductor manufacturing operations in India. The agreements were announced on 16 December 2025 and are aimed at strengthening technology capabilities and supply chain readiness for semiconductor production in the country.

The partnerships are intended to support the development of back-end semiconductor manufacturing and packaging capabilities while ensuring access to critical raw materials required for operations.

Under the technology collaboration with AOI Electronics, Kaynes Semicon will gain access to expertise in semiconductor back-end processes, including advanced packaging, panel-level packaging, and wafer-level redistribution layer technologies. The collaboration is expected to enable Kaynes Semicon to offer turnkey back-end semiconductor solutions to customers in sectors such as automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, and communications.

“This collaboration is a leap forward in our mission to build high-value semiconductor capabilities in India,” said Raghu Panicker, Chief Executive Officer of Kaynes Semicon. “AOI’s proven excellence in backend technology strengthens our offering and significantly enhances our ability to serve the global semiconductor value chain from India,” he said.

Separately, Kaynes Semicon has entered into a strategic alliance with Mitsui & Co. to secure access to key materials required for semiconductor manufacturing. These include lead frames, molding compounds, die attach materials, specialty gases, and semiconductor-grade chemicals. The company said the partnership is intended to support supply chain resilience and reduce exposure to global disruptions affecting semiconductor inputs.

“Our association with Mitsui ensures a robust and secure supply of key materials, a vital requirement for any semiconductor manufacturing facility. This is a foundational step toward operational readiness and scale,” Panicker said.

Kaynes Technology India Limited said the collaborations align with its plans to build fabrication and advanced packaging capabilities in India and to participate more actively in the global semiconductor value chain. The company indicated that the agreements cover both technical collaboration and material sourcing required for semiconductor back-end operations.

Kaynes Technology India Limited is an India-based electronics manufacturing services company with operations spanning design, manufacturing, and lifecycle support for electronic systems and products.
