Godrej Motor Solutions, part of the Godrej Enterprises Group, will invest INR 400 million over the next three years to expand manufacturing capacity and introduce new technologies in response to growing electric vehicle (EV) demand, especially in export markets. The company has commissioned a new assembly line for EV motor components and is installing a high-precision lamination punching line from AIDA Japan to support production of thin laminations used in EV, aerospace, and automation industries.

Godrej Motor Solutions is targeting revenue of INR 10 billion by financial year 2028, with exports projected to contribute 20 percent of the total. The company expects to reach INR 7.5 billion in revenue by FY26, supported by demand in the EV, HVAC, pump, and actuator sectors across domestic and international markets.

“We are strengthening our manufacturing capabilities through significant R&D investments and advanced technology adoption. We continue to invest in technology and capacity to serve identified growth sectors like EV, automation, actuators, pumps, while advancing innovations in motor design to reduce reliance on rare-earth materials,” said Xercsis Marker, Executive Vice President and Head of the Motor Solutions Business.

The company is also working on Switched Reluctance and Synchronous Reluctance Motors aimed at reducing dependency on rare earth magnets. Recent product developments include fully assembled motors for off-road EV applications for customers in the United States, and upcoming manufacturing for a German group requiring compatible controller solutions.

Godrej Motor Solutions holds a 60 percent market share in hermetic motors for refrigeration and air-conditioning in India.

The company’s Pune-based facility has an annual production capacity of over six million motors and offers more than 300 customised SKUs for industrial applications. The plant, located on a 36-acre manufacturing campus in Shindewadi, sources most components from vendors within a 100-kilometre radius.

The campus holds IGBC Platinum and GreenCo Platinum Plus certifications for environmental performance. It is water positive, recycles 80 percent of finished goods packaging, and follows a zero-waste-to-landfill policy.

Godrej Motor Solutions is part of the Godrej Enterprises Group and provides motor solutions for electric vehicles, HVAC, automation, and industrial applications.
