Godrej & Boyce has acquired Bengaluru-based Armes Maini, a manufacturer of storage shelving systems and mezzanine structures. This acquisition is aimed at enhancing Godrej’s intralogistics capabilities, addressing the increasing demand in India’s logistics and warehousing sector.

The acquisition includes a modern manufacturing facility located on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The facility spans 150,000 square feet and has a production capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year. This addition will increase Godrej’s shelving solutions capacity by approximately 35%, in response to growing demand driven by the expansion of e-commerce and logistics in India.

The facility’s advanced technology is expected to improve the company’s ability to provide efficient storage solutions. Speaking on the importance of such developments, a representative of Godrej’s Storage Solutions division noted that only 40% of India’s current warehousing facilities are classified as Grade A, highlighting the need for innovation in this sector.

With the acquisition, Godrej & Boyce aims to solidify its role in the Indian warehousing industry, particularly as the demand for more efficient storage systems continues to rise.
