Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received Notifications of Award from M.P. Power Generating Company Ltd. (MPPGCL) for two supercritical thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh. The projects involve the development of the 1×660 MW Amarkantak Unit 6 and the 1×660 MW Satpura Unit 12 plants, with an estimated contract value in the range of INR 130 billion to INR 150 billion, excluding taxes and duties.
The scope of work includes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities, covering supply of equipment, erection and commissioning, and civil works. According to the award details, the projects are scheduled to be completed within 57 months from the date of the Notification of Award, which was issued on 29 September 2025.
The contracts were awarded through an open tender enquiry process by a domestic entity. BHEL confirmed that the projects do not fall under related party transactions, and that there is no promoter or group company interest in MPPGCL.
