Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met with senior executives of Toyota Motor Corporation in Tokyo to discuss potential investment opportunities in the state. The meeting included Toshiyuki Nakahara, Department General Manager of Administration and Support for India and the Middle East, and Masahiro Nogi, Project General Manager.

Discussions focused on Toyota’s operations in India and possible trade collaborations. Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s central location, established automotive sector, and industrial infrastructure. He also outlined the Pithampur Auto Cluster and existing manufacturers such as Volvo and Mahindra as indicators of the state’s automotive industry potential.

Madhya Pradesh produces approximately 50,000 engineering graduates annually from 52 private and 17 government colleges, a factor Yadav emphasized as beneficial for industries seeking a skilled workforce. Toyota representatives acknowledged the state’s automotive potential and referenced the Toyota Technical Education Program, which focuses on skilling local youth.

The discussions took place ahead of the Global Investor Summit scheduled for 2025, where Madhya Pradesh aims to attract foreign investment in various sectors, including automobile manufacturing.
