Maruti Suzuki India Limited has approved the construction of a third manufacturing plant at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. The plant will have an annual production capacity of up to 250,000 vehicles and represents an investment of INR 74.1 billion. The company stated in a regulatory filing that the expansion will be financed through internal accruals.

Once fully operational, the total production capacity at the Kharkhoda site is expected to reach 750,000 units per year. The company plans to complete the new plant by 2029. The first plant at the Kharkhoda site began commercial production in February 2025, manufacturing the Brezza model, while a second plant with the same capacity is under construction.

The Kharkhoda facility, located in Sonipat district, is part of Maruti Suzuki’s broader investment plan, which includes over INR 500 billion in manufacturing expansion by 2030-31. The company aims to increase its total production capacity to 4 million vehicles annually.

Maruti Suzuki currently operates manufacturing facilities in Gurugram and Manesar in Haryana, along with a plant in Gujarat operated by Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited.
