Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced it has secured a contract from NTPC Ltd. to design, engineer, and establish the main plant package for the Telangana Stage-II supercritical thermal power plant. The project involves a 3×800 MW power plant, where BHEL will undertake responsibilities that include the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and civil construction work required for the plant.
BHEL has received a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from NTPC, authorizing the commencement of basic engineering work on the main plant package. According to the company, this development reinforces its ongoing relationship with NTPC, to which BHEL has contributed over 57% of NTPC’s nationwide thermal power installations.
