Fair Friend Group (FFG), through its subsidiary MAG IAS GmbH (MAG), has secured an order to deliver a turnkey production line for railway axles to Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt. Ltd. (JTRWF) in India. The line, valued in the double-digit million-euro range, is designed for an annual output of 60,000 axles and will be installed at JTRWF’s new facility in Khurda, Odisha.
The system will include VDF Boehringer VDF 450 4T horizontal turning centres along with automation solutions such as marking and measuring stations, visual inspection devices, and a central plant control system with end-to-end monitoring and component tracking. According to the company, the line will allow the production of four different axle types with minimal changeover effort and will incorporate energy-efficient processes supported by a digital plant twin and 3D simulations.
“FFG is proud to be part of this pioneering infrastructure project,” said Sebastian Schöning, CEO of Fair Friend Group. “Our technological expertise and turnkey solutions make us the ideal partner for JTRWF’s local and international goals – both in terms of product quality and sustainability.”
Implementation will be carried out with support from MAG IAS India Industrial Automation Systems Pvt. Ltd. “Our team will support our own brand machines as well as provide service for third-party components.”
Production at the Khurda facility is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Around half of the planned production is expected to be exported. MAG will oversee integration and support training for local operating and maintenance teams before operations commence.
