TRUMPF, a machine tool company based in Germany, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra, with an initial plan to assemble 35 bending machines in 2025. The company aims to increase production to 200 units per year within the next three years.
The new site covers 4,400 square metres and is intended to support both local assembly operations and export requirements. According to the company, the facility will help expand its manufacturing capacity in India.
The launch event was attended by company executives including Till Kueppers, COO Machine Tools, TRUMPF Germany, as well as representatives from industry bodies such as IMTMA, VDMA India, and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
TRUMPF (India) Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2006 and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, Germany. Based in Pune, the company provides sales, service, and application support for machine tools and laser solutions. Its portfolio includes 2D laser cutting machines, CNC punching and bending machines, 3D cutting and welding machines, marking systems, and a range of OEM laser solutions.
