Sagar Defence Engineering Private Limited announced a strategic investment in EndureAir Systems Pvt. Ltd. on 3 February 2026, marking a move to strengthen domestic capabilities in unmanned and autonomous aerial systems. The investment is aimed at advancing indigenous design and deployment of aerial robotics for defence and strategic applications.

Sagar Defence Engineering Private Limited focuses on autonomous and unmanned defence technologies. The investment is intended to reinforce India’s defence technology ecosystem by supporting locally developed platforms and reducing reliance on imported systems.

EndureAir Systems Pvt. Ltd., an aerospace company incubated at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, develops indigenous aerial robotics platforms for defence and advanced operational use. The company was founded by Abhishek, Rama Krishna, and Chirag Jain, and its systems are designed for deployment within Indian operational environments, translating academic research into mission-ready platforms.

The collaboration will focus on advancing unmanned and autonomous aerial systems, with an emphasis on indigenous design, development, and deployment. The companies stated that the partnership is aligned with national objectives related to self-reliance in defence technology and aims to accelerate the availability of domestically developed aerial robotics solutions for defence applications.

“This investment is more than capital; it reflects our belief in a principle we hold deeply: built on courage, perseverance, and innovation, it epitomises this spirit,” said Nikunj Parashar, founder of Sagar Defence Engineering.

Abhishek of EndureAir Systems said the partnership extends beyond financial participation. “The investment is beyond a business partnership, it’s a technological bridge to combine forces among the business and thought leaders from Sagar Defence Engineering with the technology and R&D talent pool of EndureAir. I foresee this partnership spiralling into something great for the Indian Defence Industry,” he said.

Sagar Defence Engineering was founded by Nikunj Parashar, Mridul Babbar, Lakshay Dang, Ankit Kumar, and Saurabh Patil with a focus on autonomous and unmanned systems across maritime, aerial, sub-surface, and terrestrial domains. The company develops unmanned solutions for security and surveillance applications and has built an artificial intelligence-based command and control system branded as GENISYS, also referred to as “Boat in a Box,” which enables remote, semi-autonomous, and autonomous vessel operations.

EndureAir Systems develops high-endurance aerial platforms designed to transport payloads across terrain gaps, conflict zones, and last-mile routes using autonomous flight capabilities. Its platforms are intended for defence and strategic applications requiring reliable payload delivery and sustained endurance under operational conditions.

The companies stated that the investment is expected to contribute to the expansion of India’s indigenous unmanned aerial systems landscape by combining operational experience with research and development capabilities.
