Bharat Forge Limited secured contracts worth approximately INR 3 billion under the Emergency Procurement – VI framework for the supply of indigenous unmanned systems to the Indian Army, with end use also designated for the Indian Navy. The contracts cover intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms and loitering munitions intended to address urgent operational requirements across diverse terrains.
The contracts were awarded under the ongoing Emergency Procurement – VI process. The platforms included in the contracts are Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet and Cleaver, all developed domestically for defence applications.
Bharat Forge stated that Omega One was displayed on an upgraded BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle during the Army Day Parade held in Jaipur on 15 January 2026. The company said the display marked the induction of the system and its validation in the presence of senior defence leadership.
According to a stock exchange filing by the company, the programmes supporting these contracts rely on increased domestic production capacity to enable rapid delivery timelines while maintaining quality and reliability standards. The company added that the unmanned systems supplied under the programme are designed to be resistant to electronic warfare and tailored for India-specific operational conditions.
The filing also noted that Bharat Forge is progressively integrating advanced autonomy, artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making capabilities across its unmanned systems portfolio. These features are intended to enhance mission endurance, precision, survivability and adaptability in contested operational environments.
“We are proud to equip our Armed Forces with India specific, EW resistant, homegrown unmanned systems,” said Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, according to the filing. He added that securing the Emergency Procurement – VI contracts and showcasing Omega One at the Army Day event reaffirmed the company’s focus on indigenous defence solutions.
