The leadership team of LG Electronics India Limited met the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on 7 January 2026 in New Delhi to review the progress of the company’s third manufacturing facility in India, which is being developed at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. The meeting covered construction timelines, investment plans and the strategic role of the project within the company’s India operations.

The discussions noted the pace of execution at the site, with the transition from the groundbreaking stage to production planned within approximately 18 months. The company said the project remains on schedule and reflects coordination between the state government and LG Electronics India on approvals and infrastructure support.

LG Electronics India said the Sri City facility is expected to become operational by December 2026. Once commissioned, the plant is expected to be among the company’s larger manufacturing units globally. The company has outlined a planned investment of about INR 50.01 billion over a four-year period for the project.

The company stated that the initial phase of production at the Sri City plant will focus on residential air conditioners and air-conditioning compressors. Subsequent phases are expected to add refrigerators and washing machines, aligning the facility with domestic demand trends and the company’s localisation strategy across major home appliance categories.

LG Electronics India also indicated that exports will form a significant part of the plant’s output. The Sri City unit is intended to support the company’s objective of strengthening India’s position as a manufacturing and export base within its global supply chain.

The project is expected to generate around 1,495 direct jobs when fully operational. LG Electronics India said the facility could also encourage the development of ancillary manufacturing and supplier activity in the region, contributing to the creation of a white goods manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.

Located in the Sri City industrial area, the new plant is expected to enhance production capacity in southern India and improve supply chain efficiency. The Sri City facility will complement LG Electronics India’s existing manufacturing plants in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and Pune, Maharashtra, and support further localisation of production.

LG Electronics India Limited is the Indian subsidiary of LG Electronics Inc. The company manufactures and markets consumer electronics and home appliances in India, serving both domestic and export markets through its manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida and Pune.
