LG Electronics India Ltd. has begun construction of a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The plant, which is the company’s third in India, is expected to become operational by the end of 2026. The planned investment for the facility is approximately USD 600 million over the next four years.

The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 247 acres of land for the project. According to LG Electronics, the plant is expected to create around 1,495 direct jobs. The facility will produce a range of consumer electronics and appliances, including AC compressors, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.

This new plant will complement LG Electronics’ existing manufacturing units in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and Pune, Maharashtra. The company stated that the Sri City location will support its supply chain in South India and help meet regional demand more efficiently.

“We are taking yet another important first step toward enhancing our partnership with India and contributing to its economic growth. The construction of our third manufacturing plant will complement our existing production facilities in Noida and Pune and marks a new milestone in our journey in India. This brand-new facility will create more jobs and increase local production,” said, Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company, about the project.

Senior government officials and executives from LG Electronics attended the foundation ceremony, including James Lee, president of the LG Eco Solution Company, and Hong Ju Jeon, managing director of LG Electronics India Ltd.

LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., established in 1997, is a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Electronics. The company operates two manufacturing units in India that produce LED TVs, air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and monitors.
