Amber Enterprises, a manufacturer of consumer durable components and solutions, announced plans to invest INR 2 billion to establish a Quantum Cryogenic Components Facility in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be developed in phases and will form part of the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative.
The facility will manufacture advanced cryogenic components required for superconducting quantum computers. These components are considered essential for the domestic quantum computing ecosystem.
The Andhra Pradesh government has also committed INR 400 million towards setting up a Quantum Reference Facility in Amaravati. This unit will focus on testing and characterising quantum components.
The Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative has attracted projects from companies such as IBM and TCS and is intended to serve as a hub for research, innovation, and hardware manufacturing in quantum technologies.
