Häfele India Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to support product innovation, local sourcing, and entrepreneurship in India. The agreement, signed on 07 May 2025 in New Delhi, will remain in effect for two years, with the possibility of extension by mutual consent.
As part of the collaboration, Häfele has committed over USD 2.5 million in an Indian appliance manufacturing startup and has placed purchase orders with Indian MSME manufacturers of architectural hardware and furniture fittings. The company will offer startups and MSMEs access to infrastructure, supplier development, technical collaboration, and market opportunities. DPIIT will facilitate access to the startup ecosystem via Startup India, including startup engagement, program participation, and co-branding efforts.

The MoU was signed by Sumeet Jarangal, Director at DPIIT, and Frank Schloeder, Managing Director – South Asia at Häfele India, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
Häfele India is a subsidiary of the Häfele Group, headquartered in Germany. The company operates in sectors including furniture fittings, architectural hardware, and home appliances.
