Andhra Pradesh has announced the development of an industrial corridor in Krishna district, with a focus on improving infrastructure to support regional economic growth and job creation. The project, located on 1,122 acres in Mallavali village, includes a ₹14.23 crore investment for road improvements, which are expected to facilitate connectivity for businesses and residents.
The road development, part of the state’s ‘Pothole-free Andhra Pradesh’ initiative, targets the refurbishment of 96 roads within the district. Recent progress has been noted in the Kalekhanpeta colony in Machilipatnam. This project aims to ensure efficient transportation networks for the upcoming industrial activities.
Additionally, the state is expediting the construction of key logistical facilities, including the Machilipatnam port and Bandar port. These ports are anticipated to enhance Krishna district’s industrial operations and logistical efficiency, supporting further economic activity in the area.
The industrial corridor project is aligned with Andhra Pradesh’s goal of creating two million jobs across the state. In conjunction with this industrial expansion, the state is advancing the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure accessible drinking water for every household, integrating infrastructure and basic amenities in its development plan.
According to a press release, the Krishna district corridor project is part of Andhra Pradesh’s larger economic strategy to foster industrial growth while addressing infrastructure needs for residents and businesses.
