Oji India Packaging Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Oji Holdings Corporation, has inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The plant, which spans 43,000 square meters, is the company’s fifth in India and has an annual production capacity of 100 million square meters of corrugated boxes and packaging accessories.

Hiroyuki Isono highlighted India’s role in Oji Holdings’ global growth strategy, stating that the new plant serves as “a comprehensive solution for South India’s packaging needs, built on sustainability and innovation.” Yoshiyuki Kurahashi provided an overview of Oji India’s expansion in the country and its future plans.

Muneo Takahashi noted that Oji Group’s expansion reflects strong Japan-India business ties. “This facility has the potential to set new benchmarks in sustainable packaging while driving regional growth,” he said. He also acknowledged Sri City’s role in supporting the plant’s development.

Ravindra Sannareddy, speaking on the broader industrial ecosystem, said, “Oji’s choice to set up its plant here reflects the robust industrial ecosystem that has developed in Sri City. Their presence will enhance supply chain efficiency and cater to the packaging needs of existing industries.”

The facility currently employs 130 workers, with plans to expand to 300. It specialises in heavy-duty packaging solutions for various industries. The Sri City plant is expected to enhance supply chain efficiencies and support manufacturers in South India.

Oji India, established in 2012, has an authorised capital of INR 2.45 billion and a paid-up capital of INR 2.4295 billion. The company also operates plants in Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Punjab. The Sri City expansion aligns with Oji Holdings’ broader business strategy and investment in India’s industrial sector.
