Fabheads Automation, a manufacturer of composite components, has raised USD 10 million through a mix of equity and venture debt to scale its automated composite manufacturing operations. The funding round was led by Accel, with INR 200 million (approximately USD 2.3 million) in venture debt provided by Trifecta Capital. This brings the Chennai-based company’s total funding to USD 13 million.

The funds will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, including the development of a new 100,000 sq ft facility at Bengaluru’s Aerospace Park. Expected to be operational within six months, the facility will house more than 70 machines and support the company’s work across aerospace, drone, robotics, and marine sectors.

Fabheads also plans to expand its leadership and client support teams and increase investment in research and development focused on automated composite fabrication.

Fabheads Automation was founded in 2015 by Dhinesh Kanagaraj and Abhijeet Rathore, both former engineers at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The company specializes in automating composite materials manufacturing and has developed proprietary technologies such as Adaptive Tow Placement (ATP).
