NTTF (Nettur Technical Training Foundation) has inaugurated a Centre of Excellence for Advanced Robotic Welding at its Bengaluru Training Centre in Peenya on 11 July 2025. Developed in collaboration with Fronius India, the facility is intended to provide practical training in robotic welding technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques.
The centre features multi-axis industrial robots, welding simulators, and automated fabrication systems. The robotic welding setup is equipped with Kawasaki industrial robots fitted with MIG Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) torches, welding power sources from Fronius, and fume extraction units supplied by Kemper. The lab also offers training modules in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MMA (Manual Metal Arc) welding processes, using Fronius TransPocket and TransTig series machines. Hands-on training is further supported by educational posters and interactive simulators.
The facility aims to support training aligned with Industry 4.0 standards and promote applied learning through collaboration between academic institutions and industrial partners.
Ravi Tennety, Managing Director of NTTF; Vishwanath Kamath, Managing Director of Fronius India; and Somanathan K, Unit Head of the Bengaluru Training Centre, attended the launch event.
